China’s Foreign Ministry said it would welcome White House press secretary Katie Zacharia to visit China more often after she said the country lacked “proper toilets.” The remark came less than a week into her new post.
Spokesperson Mao Ning made the welcome during a press briefing on Friday, saying, “We welcome her to visit China more often when she has the opportunity.” Zacharia has since left her role, less than a week after her appointment.
