Trump privately said press secretary Katie Zacharia had “no talent” and should not be on TV, Politico reports

Eastora News·

President Donald Trump privately told White House aides that press secretary Katie Zacharia had “no talent” and should not be on television, Politico reported, citing a White House official familiar with the meeting.

Zacharia was not present when Trump made the remarks, according to the report. Trump also personally urged her to reconsider the job, telling reporters publicly on Friday that he had advised her to think again about remaining in the role.

Zacharia is now leaving the White House press secretary position after five days on the job. White House officials told several U.S. outlets that she was “transitioning out” of the role.

Her brief tenure followed a first press briefing on October 13 and scrutiny over her legal credentials after she acknowledged that she had not passed a U.S. bar exam.
