Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responds to Trump’s “finish the job” threat, says Tehran has “unfinished jobs too”

Eastora News·

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded Sunday to U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning that Washington could “soon finish the job” against Iran, saying Tehran had “unfinished jobs” of its own.

“Last time you wanted to ‘finish the job,’ Iran emerged even stronger,” Araghchi wrote on X on October 18. “Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful; we have unfinished jobs too.”

Araghchi also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to pull the United States into another war to avoid prison, writing: “Netanyahu is driving America into another war to stay out of jail, whatever the consequences for Israel — let alone POTUS.”

Trump had earlier warned that Iran had been weakened militarily and financially and said that unless Tehran changed course, “we will soon finish the job.” The remarks came in a Truth Social post endorsing Netanyahu for re-election ahead of Israel’s October 27 election.

Trump also said in the same post that if Israel elected a leader other than Netanyahu, the United States might have to handle further action against Iran itself, adding that he was “not inclined to do so.”

Araghchi’s reference to Netanyahu avoiding jail appeared to point to the Israeli prime minister’s ongoing corruption trial. Netanyahu denies wrongdoing.
