Pakistan suspends Iran trade through two Balochistan crossings, stranding about 2,000 cargo trucks as reasons for the closure remain disputed

Pakistan has suspended commercial trade with Iran through the Taftan and Gabd-Rimdan border crossings in Balochistan province, leaving approximately 2,000 cargo trucks stranded on both sides of the frontier, Al Jazeera reported.
Pakistan’s federal government has not issued an official public statement on the stoppage. The Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry confirmed that trade had halted.
Local reports offer conflicting explanations for the closure. They attribute it either to heightened security operations targeting counterterrorism and anti-smuggling, or to temporary technical disruptions at customs checkpoints.
