House Republicans threaten to block Trump’s proposed $350 billion in additional Pentagon funding over his Russia policy and limits on Ukraine support

Eastora News·

A growing number of House Republicans are threatening to block Trump’s proposed $350 billion in additional Pentagon funding unless his administration takes a tougher stance against Russia, The Hill reported.

The dispute follows Trump’s decision to ease Russian sanctions and allow Russian diesel imports to help bring down rising fuel prices. Republicans are also criticizing restrictions on Ukraine’s access to U.S. intelligence and satellite technology, arguing that the moves strengthen Putin and weaken Ukraine’s defense.

Lawmakers including Don Bacon and Brian Fitzpatrick are demanding that Trump restore sanctions and Ukraine’s access to critical military support. Some Republicans have warned they could oppose other administration priorities as well as the Pentagon funding.
