Iran summoned German Ambassador Axel Dittmann to the Foreign Ministry in protest over what it called the “repetition of baseless accusations” by German authorities. The move followed Germany’s earlier summons of Iran’s ambassador on Monday over alleged plans to assassinate pro-Israel figures.
Alireza Yousefi, an assistant foreign minister and director general for Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, conveyed Tehran’s protest. He said accusations against Iran over security matters were a long-standing practice of what he called the “Zionist regime” and some Western countries.
