Israel Katz threatens strikes on Beirut’s Dahiye and permanent seizure of southern Lebanese territory if Hezbollah joins a possible Iranian response

Israel’s war minister, Israel Katz, warned that Israel would strike Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiye and seize territory in southern Lebanon if Hezbollah took part in any potential retaliatory action alongside Iran. The warning was included in statements released by the Israeli military.
Katz said any launch from Lebanese territory targeting northern settlements would trigger immediate carpet bombing across Dahiye, which he described as being done under the guise of “establishing deterrence.” He also threatened Hezbollah with a “severe blow” and said Israeli forces would permanently seize additional territory in southern Lebanon, extending to the Litani River and the Nabatiyeh regions.
