U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States could win the war with Iran “tomorrow” or leave immediately, while predicting that oil and diesel prices would fall sharply once the conflict ends.

Trump made the remarks in a one-on-one interview with Dylan Domangue of KWCH-TV 12 News on Monday, October 19, ahead of his campaign rally in Park City, Kansas.

“We could win it tomorrow. Frankly, we could leave today and we’ve already won,” Trump said. He added that the U.S. still needed to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and said the conflict would be “finished very soon.”

Trump said the world was “very thankful” for what the U.S. was doing and predicted sharply lower energy prices. “You’re gonna see some very low oil prices very soon,” he said.

He also said U.S. oil and food prices had already fallen substantially. Federal data show a more mixed picture: grocery prices fell 0.1% in September from the previous month but remained 1.8% higher than a year earlier, while gasoline prices were 34.2% higher year over year.
