Türkiye prepares parliamentary ratification of Mecca defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as it moves to a foreign affairs committee
Türkiye’s parliament is preparing to ratify a joint defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, Reuters reported, citing parliamentary sources. The proposed pact would establish a trilateral collective-security framework among the three countries.
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş is expected to submit the agreement directly to the Foreign Affairs Commission after returning from an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
As legislative approval moves forward in Ankara, the agreement is intended to consolidate closer strategic coordination among Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The agreement was concluded at a high-level summit in Mecca and is described in the source as an unprecedented mutual-defense framework connecting the three military powers.
