Türkiye, Qatar, Pakistan and Indonesia set to sign Doha defense-industry pact, building on drone, naval and armored-vehicle projects
Türkiye’s Defense Industry Agency (SSB) says Türkiye, Qatar, Pakistan and Indonesia will sign a memorandum of understanding in Doha to strengthen defense-industry cooperation.
The agreement builds on existing projects: Bayraktar TB2 drones and armored vehicles supplied to Qatar; corvettes built for Pakistan’s navy in Istanbul and Karachi; and the Kaplan MT medium tank developed jointly with Indonesia.
The agency said Turkish defense and aerospace exports exceeded $10 billion in 2025, a 48% increase from the previous year, and surpassed $11 billion over the past 12 months. It also said Türkiye is the world’s 11th-largest arms supplier, with exports rising 122% over the past five years.
