Danish police arrest two men on espionage suspicion as broadcaster reports drone-defense firm was the intended target
Danish police arrested two men on suspicion of espionage on Monday, October 19. Police gave no further details, but Denmark’s public broadcaster Dr reported that the intended target was MyDefence, a specialist drone-detection and jamming firm.
North Jutland Police said both men were formally charged with espionage at a court hearing in Aalborg on Tuesday afternoon. Media reports described the suspects as Russian speakers; Dr reported that they are in their early 20s and needed a Russian interpreter at the hearing.
The case is being handled in close cooperation with national intelligence services.
Denmark, like other European nations supporting Kyiv, remains on high alert for Russian espionage amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. Drones have become a pivotal battlefield weapon for surveillance and attacks.
