Erdogan calls the Syrian people’s Dec. 8, 2024, victory “magnificent,” saying northern integration could open a new page for Syria
Turkish President Erdogan said peace, calm and stability were beginning to take root again in Syria, and expressed confidence that completing the integration process in the north would open a new page for the country.
He described the Syrian people’s victory on December 8, 2024, as “magnificent,” saying it would, God willing, be recounted for years and passed “from tongue to tongue, from heart to heart.” Erdogan said the progress followed 13.5 years of oppression and had come despite what he called serious provocations by Israel.
Erdogan said Syrians were building a shared future in unity and solidarity under the leadership of President Ahmad al-Sharaa. He added that Türkiye would continue to stand by Syria at every stage where its support was needed.
