Israeli and Lebanese officials met Tuesday at U.S. Central Command headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, to discuss implementing a U.S.-brokered framework, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Under the framework, Lebanese forces would assume control of areas vacated by withdrawing Israeli troops. Its broader objective is to disarm Hezbollah and weaken the group’s influence.
