Israeli Defense Minister Katz says Iran is at its weakest point and warns ‘if Iran attacks Israel, Iran will burn’
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday that Iran was at its weakest point and warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would trigger a full-force response.
Katz made the remarks at an IDF officers’ graduation ceremony in southern Israel, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and military chief Eyal Zamir also spoke.
“The Iranian regime is at its weakest point ever, and we identify that this weakness could lead it to take the most extreme measures, including against the State of Israel,” Katz said.
He also said Israel had identified attempts by Iran and its proxies to carry out attacks intended to influence Israel’s upcoming election.
“Our message to the Iranian regime is clear: We are identifying your attempts, we are prepared to thwart them, and we are ready to strike you with full force,” Katz said. “If Iran attacks Israel, Iran will burn.”
His warning came as Israeli officials intensified public warnings about possible Iranian action ahead of the October 27 election. Iran has separately warned that any new attack on its territory would bring a broader and less restrained response.
