French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said the government of Emmanuel Macron had lost control amid ongoing Yellow Vests protests. She also accused the authorities of failing to adequately anticipate the violence that occurred on October 17.
Le Pen called for much tougher penalties, saying rioters should be held financially responsible for the damage they cause and should pay for it for life if necessary.
