Trump’s FCC chair threatens broadcasters over polls showing his disapproval and Republican midterm losses, warning they could violate broadcast rules
U.S.
Trump’s FCC chair threatened broadcasters over polls showing Trump’s disapproval rating and Republicans losing the midterms, saying such broadcasts could violate their regulatory obligations.
The chair said there had been a “significant surge” in “entirely fake polls and suppression polls” during the election season. Broadcasters were advised to avoid “news distortions” and “broadcast hoaxes” by airing polls that would violate those obligations.
