Trump asked Musk to lift Starlink speed limits for Ukraine after restrictions disrupted offensive drones and drone interceptors

President Trump called Elon Musk and asked him to remove speed restrictions on Ukraine’s military-grade Starlink service after the limits disrupted Ukrainian offensive drones and drone interceptors, the Wall Street Journal reported. SpaceX had limited the service’s operation to roughly 160 km/h (100 mph).

U.S. and Ukrainian officials said Starlink performance improved shortly after the conversation on Thursday, though some Ukrainian officials said full functionality had not been restored.

Trump had expressed frustration with the restrictions and told aides he wanted them reversed.
