Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned in an interview with state-run Press TV that Tehran could target US-linked energy, data and artificial intelligence facilities across seven Gulf states if the United States and Israel attack Iran again. He said more than $2 trillion in US-connected technology infrastructure across the region was at risk and warned those assets would be destroyed if hostilities resumed.

In a separate interview with Drop Site, Rezaei said Iran had set seven conditions through intermediaries and would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz or resume talks until they were met. He also cautioned that continued tensions could disrupt global energy markets for up to three years.

At the White House, US President Donald Trump told reporters that the war with Iran had divided American voters ahead of the November midterm elections. Acknowledging the conflict's political cost, Trump maintained that the military strikes were long overdue and said the United States might push its campaign a little further.

The post says US and Israeli attacks on Iranian sites on February 28, 2026, resulted in the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the deaths of hundreds of civilians. It says the attacks triggered regional retaliation, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and rising fuel prices, while Trump's approval ratings fell to between 30 and 36 percent as the conflict entered its eighth month.
