The United States and Israel have developed plans to resume joint strikes against Iran after the U.S. midterm elections, ABC reported, citing Israeli sources. The proposed operations would further erode Iran’s economy and target its petrochemical facilities; the sources said the final decision rests solely with President Donald Trump.

The White House has said the United States will not attack Iran before the midterms, while maintaining that the blockade and enforcement measures will remain in full force.

Regional tensions persist amid reports of drone interceptions in Saudi Arabia and claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy that vessels have been attacked in the Persian Gulf.
