Netanyahu orders Israel to shift toward Argentina on Falkland Islands after British sanctions on West Bank settlements, without endorsing its sovereignty claim
Middle EastEuropeWorld
The Telegraph reported that Netanyahu has ordered Israel to move its position on the Falkland Islands in Argentina’s favor, following British sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
Israeli diplomats have been instructed to support direct negotiations between the UK and Argentina over the islands’ future and to acknowledge Argentina’s “historical connection” to the territory.
The shift does not amount to formal Israeli support for Argentina’s sovereignty claim, but it signals a deterioration in relations between Israel and Britain.
