The United States is deploying another amphibious assault ship carrying Marines to the Middle East, a move described as expanding President Donald Trump’s options for potential territorial seizures, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a Navy official.
With an additional carrier strike group and Marine expeditionary unit arriving, the U.S. will have more than 24 Navy ships in the region, the official said.
