Rapper Nicki Minaj praised President Donald Trump’s economic leadership and work ethic in an interview with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung aboard Air Force One on Sunday as she traveled with the president to a midterm campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan.

“We have a president that understands economics,” Minaj said, describing Trump as “naturally a businessman” and arguing that his experience rebuilding his own finances showed he knew how to manage the country.

She also praised Trump’s approach to foreign policy, calling him “very tough” internationally and saying he tells other countries what the United States needs rather than accepting their demands.

Asked by Cheung whether anyone worked harder than Trump on the campaign trail, Minaj replied: “Absolutely not,” and said Trump had “won three elections.” Trump won the 2016 and 2024 presidential elections but lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden.

Minaj said Trump wakes at 4 a.m. and works harder than people half his age, adding that he could “kick his feet up” for the rest of his presidency but was instead campaigning to help other Republican candidates win the midterms.

She also dismissed unfavorable polling, invoking Hillary Clinton and arguing that such polls were intended to discourage conservative voters. “Conservatives, we are winning,” she said, urging supporters to turn out.

Minaj traveled with Trump to Michigan before appearing at his Port Huron rally, where the president was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers and other GOP candidates ahead of the Nov. 3 elections.
