Trump says choice on Iran is a deal or to ‘finish them off,’ while warning U.S. knows what is happening at Pickaxe Mountain
President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday that he was weighing whether to reach an agreement with Iran or pursue further military action, framing the choice as whether to “make a deal” or “finish them off.”
“Do I make a deal with them, or do I finish them off? That’s the only question,” Trump said. He later repeated the choice, saying finishing the confrontation militarily would be “very easy to do” but that an agreement remained an alternative.
Trump also said the United States knew what was happening at Pickaxe Mountain, the deeply buried Iranian site linked to Tehran’s nuclear program that has not been hit in previous U.S. and Israeli strikes. He did not disclose what intelligence Washington had gathered.
Turning to Venezuela, Trump said the United States had “total control” of the country and was treating it fairly. Washington has exercised extensive influence over Venezuela since U.S. forces captured Nicolás Maduro in January, while interim President Delcy Rodríguez continues to head the government.
On Taiwan, Trump again accused the island of taking the U.S. semiconductor industry, saying it had “stolen our chip business, all of it, 100%.” He also argued that tensions between China and Taiwan would not exist if previous U.S. presidents had been “smart,” saying: “Nobody would care.”
Trump linked unrest in parts of Europe to immigration, claiming hundreds of thousands of people had entered Spain recently and describing some newcomers as “angry people.” He also recalled telling French President Emmanuel Macron when they first met: “You’re destroying France,” a remark Trump said was prompted by France’s immigration policies.
