Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran would fully support any agreement that strengthens unity among Muslim countries and promotes constructive cooperation in West Asia. He made the remarks on Monday at a quadrilateral meeting in Tehran with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, adding that understandings reached there to boost regional solidarity and cooperation would receive Iran’s backing.

Pezeshkian urged Islamic nations to stay alert to what he described as interventionist and divisive policies. He warned of U.S. and Israeli plots to weaken regional states, divide Muslim nations and undermine major Islamic powers. Through mutual cooperation and support, he said, countries in the region should ensure none is left alone to face pressure and threats; using their shared capacities could also allow Islamic states to present the world with a model of justice and development.

Addressing efforts to impose economic pressure and fuel public discontent, Pezeshkian said the idea that pressure and sanctions can force nations into submission was fundamentally misguided. He called on Islamic countries to meet one another’s needs through constructive engagement, economic cooperation and effective use of their respective capacities, saying deeper and broader regional cooperation would strengthen their ability to withstand external pressure and address challenges.
