Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said Tehran would not agree to end the conflict with Washington until its explicit conditions were met, Anadolu Agency reported. He made the remarks on Tuesday in Tehran during a high-level briefing with Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

Khamenei said any resolution must fully protect the rights and strategic interests of the Iranian people and the broader Resistance Front. He also said Iran would retain full operational management of the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard national and regional security.

Describing the United States as desperate because of Iranian popular resistance, Khamenei reiterated Tehran’s policy of pursuing “endogenous regional arrangements” with neighboring Arab states. He also said Tehran would use its maritime control to compel US compliance.

Rezaei briefed Khamenei on Iran’s security posture and diplomatic communications through regional intermediaries. He confirmed that Tehran would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz or resume formal negotiations until Washington implements seven core requirements, including a total end to hostilities, the lifting of the US naval blockade and the release of frozen assets.

The consultations coincided with active quadrilateral security dialogues involving Iran, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The talks were aimed at de-escalating regional friction while Tehran preserves what the post described as its primary strategic leverage.
