Trump administration allies discuss Netanyahu–Eisenkot unity government that could keep Netanyahu as prime minister even if he loses Tuesday’s election

Allies of the Trump administration have privately discussed with Israeli officials the possibility of a Netanyahu–Eisenkot unity government after Tuesday’s election, a move that could allow Netanyahu to remain prime minister even if he loses.

Netanyahu has privately offered to abandon his far-right coalition partners. He has also argued to U.S. officials that he is Washington’s best partner for resuming military operations against Iran.
