Kuwait summons Iran’s ambassador to protest embassy statement after it rejects accusations of Iranian involvement in an assassination plot
Kuwait summoned Iran’s ambassador on Wednesday to protest a statement by the Iranian embassy, which Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said amounted to interference in the country’s internal affairs.
Earlier, the embassy rejected Kuwaiti accusations that Iranian nationals had taken part in a plot to assassinate individuals and threaten Kuwait’s security.
The Foreign Ministry said Kuwait rejected any interference in its courts’ rulings and urged Iran to comply with international law and the UN Charter, particularly the principle of good neighborly relations.
