Flávio Bolsonaro declared himself Brazil’s “true president-elect,” alleging widespread electoral fraud and accusing Lula and the Supreme Court of “stealing” the election.

In a statement issued from the United States, he said he had left Brazil with his family because he feared political persecution and vowed to lead the opposition from abroad.

Bolsonaro thanked Trump for providing refuge and urged the international community not to “normalize” what he described as an “authoritarian regime” in Brazil.
