Iran is seeking to compress its proposed timetable for ending the regional conflict from seven days to four, as mediators discuss holding a meeting in Türkiye before Nov. 4 to bridge remaining differences between Tehran and Washington, sources told Al Arabiya English.

Under the revised timetable, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States would lift its naval blockade on Iranian ports, according to the report.

The nuclear file would also be folded into the accelerated plan, including a proposal to allow international nuclear inspectors to return to Iranian sites.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Wednesday that Tehran remained in close contact with intermediaries and was examining ways to implement its existing seven-day plan “in even less than a week.”

Iran’s original proposal called for a sequence of reciprocal steps leading to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and renewed U.S.-Iran negotiations. Tehran has demanded an end to hostilities, the lifting of the naval blockade and restrictions on oil exports, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

Regional diplomacy has intensified this week, with Qatar leading mediation efforts backed by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Pakistan and Egypt as Washington and Tehran weigh whether a new agreement can avert another round of fighting.
