Truth Social sells Wall Street faster access to Trump’s posts for up to $100,000 a month
Truth Social has signed Bloomberg and two high-frequency trading firms to a paid service that delivers President Donald Trump’s posts faster than ordinary users can access them, according to Reuters.
Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading are among the customers of Truth API, a data feed operated by Trump Media & Technology Group that can cost financial institutions between $60,000 and $100,000 a month.
The service is designed to deliver posts roughly 50 milliseconds faster than conventional access to Truth Social.
That difference can be significant for high-frequency trading firms, whose automated systems can analyze market-moving information and execute trades within milliseconds.
Trump’s statements have repeatedly moved financial markets, including oil, currencies and individual stocks, giving faster access potential value to firms using algorithmic trading strategies.
Trump Media said in August that it had signed more than 10 customer agreements for Truth API, primarily with Wall Street trading firms.
The arrangement has drawn scrutiny over the relationship between Trump’s presidency and his family’s financial interests. A Trump family trust owns about 41% of Trump Media, with Trump as its sole beneficiary.
Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to examine the service, while The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation have filed a lawsuit challenging paid preferential access to presidential statements.
Trump Media defended Truth API as an industry-standard product and said there is significant demand for the service. The company accused anonymous sources of providing misleading information intended to damage Trump Media, its customers and shareholders.
Bloomberg, Susquehanna and Jump Trading declined to comment on their subscriptions.
