U.S. economy grows 3.4% annualized in third quarter, beating forecasts and reaching its fastest pace in a year

The U.S. economy expanded at a 3.4% annualized rate from July through September, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis said Thursday. Growth accelerated from 2.2% in the second quarter and exceeded the 3.2% expected by economists surveyed by Reuters.
