Zelensky says Ukraine could pause Russian refinery strikes for one month if U.S. provides Patriot missiles

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv could halt attacks on Russian oil refineries for one month if the United States supplied Patriot air-defense missiles for the same period.

“If you need us not to attack their refineries for one month, give me Patriots for one month,” Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News.

He said Ukraine had repeatedly discussed the refinery strikes with President Donald Trump and his team, arguing that Kyiv could not stop responding while Russia continued attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Zelensky said Ukraine was prepared to pay for the Patriot missiles rather than receive them as free aid.

Asked whether he was concerned Trump could view the proposal as pressure on Washington, Zelensky said he needed to give the U.S. president an accurate picture of the situation.

“I have to share with the president the truth, the real situation,” he said. “America can’t help Russia. President Trump can’t help Putin.”
