Nearly 70% of voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation as living costs and the Iran war weigh on U.S. midterm choices
Rising living costs are weighing on U.S. voters ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, with many blaming the administration’s tariffs and the war with Iran for higher prices. A Ft-Focaldata poll published Nov. 2 found that nearly 70% disapprove of President Donald Trump’s handling of inflation and the cost of living.
The economy is also a major voting concern: a Pew Research Center survey released Oct. 8 found that 84% of registered voters considered it a very important issue in the election.
In Republican rural strongholds, higher diesel and fertilizer costs are squeezing farmers and testing the party’s traditional advantage. The Ft poll found voters most wanted lower prices and a stronger economy after the elections; less U.S. involvement in foreign wars was also among their priorities.
