Iran’s Bagheri Kani rejects diplomacy based on verbal assurances and accuses Washington of undermining all four rounds of talks
Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview with IRIB that Tehran would not engage in diplomacy with Washington on the basis of verbal assurances alone. He said Iran needed to see practical US actions, adding that if those actions were observed, it could become possible to open a new chapter.
Bagheri Kani accused Washington of deliberately sabotaging all four rounds of negotiations conducted over the past 18 months by repeatedly reneging on its operational commitments.
