Speaking to Axios, Trump said Iran “wants to make a deal,” but added: “It is not the deal that I want to make… They overplayed their hand.” Asked whether he was considering resuming military strikes, he replied: “I am always thinking about it.”

Axios reports that Qatari mediators are still shuttling between Washington and Tehran, with another round of indirect talks possible as early as Monday. Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal on Saturday after Tehran offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear negotiations if the U.S. eased its naval blockade, oil sanctions and regional military pressure.
