Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen told member states there is “no immediate risk” to security of supply, but warned that tighter global markets and price swings require continued demand restraint.

EU gas storage is around 68% full, well below the levels seen in most recent years. The Commission says Europe is better prepared than during the 2021-22 energy crisis, but Middle East disruptions, including reduced LNG flows from Qatar, have added fresh pressure to the market.
