Mikhail Ulyanov wrote on X: “Switzerland is no longer a neutral state for Russia. This is Switzerland’s choice. No offense.”

His remarks followed Sunday’s referendum, in which 70.15% of Swiss voters rejected a proposal to enshrine a more restrictive form of neutrality in the constitution. The initiative would have limited Switzerland’s ability to impose economic sanctions and cooperate with NATO.

Ulyanov argued that the result showed Swiss neutrality had become “wishful thinking” rather than a principled position.
