Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an unannounced one-day visit to Abu Dhabi on Sunday for talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

A senior Israeli official confirmed the Sept. 27 visit to Reuters, while Israeli media reported that Netanyahu flew to the UAE on a private aircraft and returned to Israel later the same day.

The trip comes as Israel and the UAE maintain close political and security ties under the Abraham Accords, which established formal diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2020.
