Syrian authorities say they have dismantled an ISIS cell operating across Raqqa, Aleppo, Idlib and Homs, arresting four of its leaders and several other members.

According to Syria’s security forces, the cell began operating in Raqqa before expanding into three other provinces. Explosives allegedly prepared for attacks were seized during the raids.

Initial investigations linked the group to five kidnappings, as well as assassinations and the planting of explosive devices, authorities said. The suspects are expected to be referred to the judiciary as the investigation continues.
