An Iranian passenger jet was stopped from leaving Istanbul after Turkish enforcement officers moved to seize the aircraft over an unpaid debt.

The Caspian Airlines Boeing 737-500, registered EP-KPB, had already boarded passengers for a flight to Iran when lawyers for the creditor and court officers arrived at Istanbul Airport with an enforcement order.

Passengers and crew were taken off the plane and the aircraft was placed under seizure. Turkish reports say the action followed a debt dispute with a local aviation services company.

The exact value of the debt has not been confirmed in the main Turkish report, though the original claim puts it at around €3 million.
