Netanyahu’s office has formally confirmed his previously unannounced visit to Abu Dhabi, saying he traveled there with his wife and a senior security delegation at the invitation of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed.

The delegation included the heads of Mossad and Israel’s National Security Council, as well as Netanyahu’s military secretary and foreign policy adviser.

The confirmation comes a day after reports first revealed the secret trip, which lasted only a few hours before Netanyahu returned to Israel.
