The visit came weeks after Haaretz reported that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed warned Netanyahu roughly 10 days before the 2023 attack that Yahya Sinwar was planning an “earthquake.” Netanyahu has called the report an “absolute lie” and said he would sue the newspaper.

The UAE has not confirmed the alleged leader-to-leader warning, saying intelligence is exchanged through relevant professional channels when necessary. Netanyahu flew privately to Abu Dhabi, met MBZ and returned to Israel later the same day.

It remains unclear whether the disputed Oct. 7 warning was discussed during the meeting.
