Saudi Arabia has restored crude exports from Yanbu after a 17-day shutdown of its East-West Pipeline, reopening one of its main routes around the Strait of Hormuz.

Bloomberg reports that flows have climbed to about 3.5 million barrels a day following repairs to damage caused by drone strikes earlier this month.

The pipeline can carry roughly 7 million barrels a day, with about 5 million typically available for export. Its outage had tightened Saudi supplies to overseas buyers, and some European customers were told they would receive no term cargoes next month.

The restart gives Riyadh back a major Red Sea export route at a time when Gulf shipping remains under pressure.
