The appointment follows the Sept. 23 parliamentary election, in which her centrist Authenticity and Modernity Party won the largest bloc with 97 of 395 seats.

El Mansouri now faces the task of building a governing coalition in a fragmented parliament, while taking office at a time when Morocco is under pressure to deliver jobs, public-service reforms and major infrastructure projects ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
