Flight FZ1073 first transmitted a general emergency code and then a 7500 signal — used for unlawful interference — prompting Israel to scramble fighter jets and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold an urgent security consultation.

The aircraft later landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Reuters, citing an Israeli official, said the incident was not a hijacking but a physical altercation between the pilots.

All passengers were reported safe. The cause of the cockpit confrontation remains under investigation.
